I’ve been writing poetry most of my life, in parallel with a career as a BBC reporter and presenter. Since I became a freelance, poetry has consumed much of my time and I’ve had poems published in various magazines and anthologies.
I was joint winner of a Debut Collection Competition held by https://www.hedgehogpress.co.uk/ and my collection ‘Rescue Lines’ was published by Hedgehog in 2024. I was also lucky enough to be joint winner of a Chapbook competition with Dreich Press, and ‘Sticky with Miles’ came out in 2024.
I was part of Wave 17 of Iamb Poetry, a featured poet with East Ridge Review and author of a Silver Branch feature from Black Bough Poetry. One of my poems features in the ‘Anne-thology’ re-imagining Anne Hathaway, from Broken Sleep. In 2023,Nine Pens published ‘Invisible Continents’, a pamphlet of poems from me and my collaborators and friends, Jane R Rogers and Tahmina Maula.
I live in Plymouth with my husband, and I often write about the sea. We are sailors and year-round sea swimmers and I believe in the sea’s powers to console and strengthen us. I’m also deeply worried about damage done to its environment and wildlife.
